Washington Dunhuang Guzheng Academy | Dec. 29, 5:30 PM

The Washington Dunhuang Guzheng Academy was founded in 2006 by performer and instructor Lei Gu, who enjoyed a highly successful performing career in China on the instrument often called the piano of traditional Chinese music. Since coming to the US, Lei Gu has created a unique DC area ensemble and school that carries on an ancient tradition while intersecting with Western and World musical instruments and genres. Believing that music has no borders, this talented ensemble has performed in venues across the DC region, introducing new audiences to a tradition that is evolving to embrace a wider culture, both on stage and in the audience. Enjoy solos, small ensembles, and a full ensemble of this fascinating instrument.
