Why I Believe Devotional – Senator John R. Curtis

The “Why I Believe” fireside this month is to be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Washington DC Temple Visitors Center. We will feature testimonies of Jesus Christ from Senator John R. Curtis of Utah.

Senator Curtis was born in Ogden, Utah, and is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a degree in business management. He served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Taiwan and speaks Mandarin Chinese. Before being sworn into the United States Senate in January 2025, Curtis served from 2017 to 2025 as the U.S. representative for Utah’s 3rd congressional district and from 2010 to 2017 as the 44th mayor of Provo, Utah. He and his wife, Sue, have six children and eighteen grandchildren.
