Ramy Adly and the School of Oud Online Ensemble
For a thousand years, Arabic music had no written language of its own — it passed from master to student by ear alone. Ramy Adly wrote one. Through his School of Oud Online, he teaches students in more than forty countries using notation that did not exist before he created it. He performs here on the oud — the five-thousand-year-old ancestor of the guitar — with eight of those students and a string quartet, including a familiar Christmas carol. The evening ends with the music continuing in his students’ hands after he has stopped playing.
Join us for their performance on December 6 at 6:30 PM.
Admission is free, and a free timed parking ticket is required. More details coming soon.
