Devotional – Worlds Without Number: God’s Infinite Creation

noviembre 8 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

In addition to bearing personal testimony of their belief in Jesus Christ as Creator and Lord of the Universe, our devotional speakers will address the exhibit’s image selection, education that’s not just for mortal life but eternal life, and what’s on the horizon with space technology and research — including the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope and Vera Rubin Observatory.

Dr. Mario Pérez was the Astrophysics Chief Technologist and Program Scientist in the Astrophysics Division at NASA Headquarters for the last 17 years. His research interests include star formation, young stellar objects, stellar populations in galaxies, ultraviolet spectroscopy, space technology and instrumentation. Dr. Perez received both his B.S. in electrical engineering and physics, Ph.D. in physics and astronomy from Brigham Young University, and an MBA from the University of New Mexico. He is a resident of Oakton, Virginia.

Dra. Joyce Winterton was NASA’s Assistant Administrator for Education and directed the development and implementation of the agency’s education programs. In this role, she led the agency in inspiring interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as few other organizations can through its unique mission, workforce, facilities, research and innovations. She earned her BA and MA in home economics education from Utah State University in Logan, and her doctorate is in teacher education and administration from Colorado State University. She resides in Reston, Virginia. Notably, Dr. Winterton helped escort Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip on a tour of Goddard Flight Facility in Greenbelt, Maryland during the 2007 Royal Visit to Washington, D.C. Her role was to showcase NASA’s educational and space science exhibits to the royal delegation.

Robert Woodhead is the creator and producer of the Worlds Without Number: God’s Infinite Creation exhibit. Professionally, he is a corporate and policy communications writer and former president of the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the BYU Management Society. He joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints while a student at Brigham Young University. After coming to Washington, D.C. for internships and graduate school following a church mission, he has remained in the area since 1983 and is a longtime resident of Reston, Virginia.

Join us on November 8 at 6:00 PM for the devotional featuring these remarkable individuals and their testimony of Jesus Christ. All are welcome, and entrance and parking are free!
